The Buccaneers continued to bolster their pass-catching corps buy taking Penn State wide receiver Chris Godwin with the 84th selection in the 2017 NFL: Draft.
At 6-foot-1 and 209 pounds and with 4.42 speed, Godwin has the ability to work inside at the slot or outside of the numbers, where he has consistently shown the ability to beat man coverage.
Observe his breakaway speed above for a 72 yard TD vs. USC in the 2017 Rose Bowl.
Godwin is a strong receiver who has the skill necessary to break free of a jam at the line of scrimmage and win 50-50 balls in the air, which makes him a good fit with quarterback Jameis Wisnton.
The Bucs intended to make a point this offseason of adding weapons to their offensive arsenal and it seems Winston will continue to benefit from that game plan.
