USF coach Taggart confident star QB Flowers will play Friday

The USF Bulls were back at practice on Monday getting ready for their second prime time Friday night game in a row coming at home with Navy. The real question is what’s the status of star QB Quinton Flowers, who tweaked is hamstring late in the loss to Temple?

On Monday morning, Bulls coach Willie Taggart told the American Conference media on the weekly “coaches teleconference” that Flowers would be “good to go” in the battle with the Midshipmen. He did not elaborate. Again Monday night, on his weekly radio show Taggart stated “it would take an army” to keep Flowers off the field at Raymond James stadium this Friday.

Unlike the NFL, major college football has no injury reports during the weeks to detail who is practicing and what their chances of playing actually are. So, we are left to take the Bulls and Taggart at their word that Flowers is good enough to practice (who knows) and give it a try on Friday night.

But, Bulls fans should be concerned about the hammy limiting his effectiveness, until we see otherwise Friday. Flowers is obviously the key figure in USF’s high powered offense, as the dual threat QB is the leading rusher and has 23 combined TD’s already this season.
