On the day the USF was readying to play their final home game of 2017 Thursday night, freshman receiver Kevaughn Dingle is being accused of having sexually assaulted a female acquaintance in the campus dorms.
Dingle has been red-shirting this season after coming to the Bulls from Miami and remained in the Hillsborough County Jail Friday night being held without bond on the charge felony sexual battery.
According to USF police, they were notified at 1 a.m. Friday of the alleged incident, which the accuser says happened Thursday around noon. The USF police interviewed Dingle and found enough evidence and cause to take him into custody.
USF had not responded as of 7:30 p.m. Friday to media inquires about Dingle’s arrest.
He is the third Bull to be charged with a felony this calendar year. Defensive lineman LaDarrius Jackson was charged in May with two separate counts of sexual battery on two different women, and Bulls defensive back Hassan Childs was charged with felony gun and assault charges in a road rage incident in March.
