The Jacksonville Jaguars have made it pretty clear that the keys to the backfield aren’t just going to be handed to 4th overall pick Leonard Fournette. If the rookie wants to start, the organization has made it pretty clear that he is going to have to earn the job.
Right now he is competing with TJ Yeldon and Chris Ivory for that spot. As head coach Doug Marrone made pretty clear via ESPN.com:
“Obviously when we made the pick we were thinking about [how] he can be someone like that,” Marrone said after the second day of the team’s three-day rookie minicamp. “Obviously he’s shown that ability, but at the same sense, when you have the team, the one thing about a team is you have to earn that. So he’s going to have to go and show that he has to do that.”

For Fournette he’s on board with the process that the Jaguars have set out for him. He has been stated that he will remain with the club after the rookie mini-camp wraps up this weekend. Clearly he’s taking this pro football thing seriously and want to do everything he can to earn the trust of the coaching staff and his teammates. By saying and doing the right things at this stage, Fournette is showing a level of professionalism that required in order to be Successful in this league. The little things, like sticking around when you don’t have to add up. Then will come the time to perform.
