With the signing of Steelers Lawrence Timmons at the outset of free agency, the Dolphins obviously sent a message to their veteran linebacker Jelani Jenkins that they were moving on. Well, Jenkins and his advisors took the hint and he has a new team signing Monday evening with the Raiders.
Our new signee @jelanijenkins53 sits down to talk why he decided to sign with our team.

Jenkins, a former fourth round pick out of Florida in 2013, played out his original four year contract last season. And, his season was injury plagued, including a knee injury that limited him to only nine games and hampered him, when he was active. His salary with bonuses was $1.8 million in 2016.
Terms of his Oakland deal have not surfaced, as of yet.
The Dolphins allowed him to walk not only because of Timmons coming in, but as we wrote Monday, there could be another LB in the fold shortly as a free agent.
The Fins have been active and don’t appear ready to stand pat. Stay tuned.
