It’s another spectacular final college football Saturday in October in the state and here’s your Primer involving the important state school’s games.

At Noon in Houston

UCF travels to play the Cougars in American Conference action. The Golden Knights had an impressive road win at UConn last Saturday for their fourth victory of the season. Houston is stinging after being upset last Saturday at SMU. It was the Cougs second upset road loss after also falling at Navy three weeks ago. QB Greg Ward and the Houston offense will look to get back on track. Exciting UCF Freshman QB McKenzie Milton had a big day last week and will look to follow it up in the “Lone Star State.”

At 3:30 in Jacksonville

The Gators and Georgia Bulldogs renew their annual knock down, drag out affair that they don’t want you to call “the world’s largest outdoor cocktail party” any longer. Florida has been dominant going back to 1990 winning 20 of last 26 times in the series. And there is intrigue involving QB Luke Del Rio and his dad getting to see him play in person.  Georgia first year coach Kirby Smart gets his first taste of the rivalry as a head coach. He did play in the series as a player for the Dawgs. Florida still remains in the driver’s seat to win this game, win out and win the SEC Esat.

At 3:30 in South Bend, IN

The Miami Hurricanes and Notre Dame renew what has previously been a hostile series. As our resident Cane guru, Ari Russell, laid out comically earlier this week, the luster is off this game. Miami off of three straight defeats and Notre Dame going the wrong direction with coach Brian Kelly’ team now 2-5 isn’t exactly “must see” college football TV. Something has to give Saturday afternoon though, and Canes coach Mark Richt would love nothing better than getting a road win at Notre Dame to get back on track.

Finally, 8:00 in Tallahassee

In a game with massive implications for the ACC Title Game and the upcoming initial rankings by the College Football Playoff Committee Tuesday night, the Noles host unbeaten Clemson. The high powered FSU offense led by QB Deondre Francois and RB Dalvin Cook. Florida State looks to welcome back star safety Derwin James off his knee injury in game two this season. Meanwhile, All American QB DeShaun Watson gets set to play in another massive game for his career and try to lead the Tigers to the road win. The Tigers will also get RB Wayne Gallman back from concussion protocol. FSU seeks revenge for a loss to Clemson a year ago that knocked them out of the division race for the ACC championship. It should be a wild Saturday night at Doak Campbell Stadium.
