Former Seminoles Jernigan and Darby part of Eagles apparent Flu issues

As if the Eagles didn’t have enough to go up against, now it’s apparent that numerous players have either had or currently have the Flu as the Super Bowl draws near.
And this includes a couple of former Florida State stars about to try to play in the game for the first time in DT Timmy Jernigan (above) and S Ronald Darby.
Teammate Lance Kendricks was at the final media session for the Eagles Thursday, and revealed that not only is he currently battling it, but where it started. Kendricks told ESPN.com that the illness issues began last week with kick return specialist/receiver Kenjon Barner missing practice, as well as Coach Doug Pederson had it then, too.
“I’m getting over it right now. It’s like a cold, dude. I don’t know. The whole team has it, though.” Kendricks continued, “I think it started sometime last week. Something we’ve got to get through. We’ll be fine. It’s not that big of a deal.”
Now, Jernigan has been unable to practice on Wednesday and Thursday and although Darby did practice Thursday, he didn’t appear at the team media session Thursday due to what the team called “illness.”
This leads to further belief that he has the Flu or some version of it affecting him, also.
The “Pool” reporter, who was allowed to speak to Pederson after practice Thursday, asked about Jernigan’s status and the coach said, “it’s a 24 hour deal,” which means they either they hope to have him Sunday or they are trying to spin that there’s not a Flu outbreak problem, currently.
Jernigan has 1 tackle in the two Philly playoff wins, but he is a compliment to Pro Bowl defensive tackle Fletcher Cox in the middle of the Eagles defensive line.
Darby, who dislocated his ankle in week one, returned late in the season for the Eagles secondary, and had seven tackles in both the Falcon game and the NFC Championship Game win over Minnesota.
