Well, if Buccaneers fans were already excited about the possibility of FSU running back Dalvin Cook coming to Tampa Bay, the latest news Wednesday night may have them jumping up and down.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Cook is headed to One Buc Place to visit officially with the team:

It’s no secret that Cook is a hot item on the “visitation list” of teams wanting running backs in the upcoming draft. We wrote here last week about two others that brought him in for “one on ones.”

It’s also very intriguing that Cook played for a season with Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston at Florida State. Re-uniting them in the backfield would be a Nole fan’s dream and potentially, a nightmare for Buccaneer NFC South foes.

Now, as we have written, after his great time in the 40 yard dash at his pro day,  it’s going to be tough, if not impossible to get Cook if Tampa Bay remains in their 19th spot of the first round. Wide spread belief is that Cook will go in the top 15, if not the top 10 on night one of the NFL Draft.

And it’s also well known that it’s a deep running back draft and the Bucs could still get value later on night two in the second or third round at running back.

However, talking to Cook at One Buc Place after Bucs GM Jason Licht and company being at the Combine and his pro day, clearly indicates they are more than casually interested in Cook.
