After an absolute miserable four game skid, the Miami Hurricanes finally got back on track on Saturday, knocking off the Pitt Panthers in a decisive 51-28 victory. The offensive line for Miami, finally didn’t look like swiss cheese, giving up zero sacks. QB Brad Kaaya was the beneficiary of the better protection, going 32/47 for 356 yards and four TDs. You see what happens when he gets protection?

The Canes led at the half 17-7, but Pitt brought it to 17-14, and ultimately took a 21-20 lead halfway through the third quarter. This is where the Canes fans got real nervous. We have seen this play before. However the Canes drove down the field on the next possession capped by a 1 yard Brad Kaaya TD run.  In fact the Canes would run up 21 unanswered points to take a 41-21 lead early in the fourth quarter and would never looks back. Mark Walton would put the exclamation point on with a 55 yard TD run, to put the canes up 51-28.

Finally the Canes offense decided to awaken. The offensive line did it’s job and what a surprise, Brad Kaaya was able to have himself one of his better games in his career. Obviously there are still some glaring issues with this team. But a decisive win like this after a terrible four game stretch was exactly what this program needed.
