With playoff positioning on the line for the Miami Dolphins, they certainly knew how to make things exciting. What seemed like a certain victory for the Dolphins, turned into a wild ride that required every second of regulation to decide. Though the Fins did win 26-23 over the Arizona Cardinals, the tale of this game would give the fans multiple coronaries.

With Ryan Tannehill’s two first half TD passes and the Miami defense holding down David Johnson, Miami held a 14-9 lead going into the half. Tannehill would throw his third TD pass of the game for the Fins to go up 21-9. Later in the third, Tannehill would be forced to leave the game with an apparent knee injury and would be replaced by Matt Moore.

The Cardinals would strike back with a Carson Palmer TD pass to cut the lead to six, 25-15. The extra point was blocked however and returned for a safety, the Fins up 23-15.

Palmer would throw another TD pass with 3 minutes to go in the fourth and David Johnson catches the two point conversion and all of a sudden this game was tied.

Both teams would trade possessions and punts in the final 3 minutes, with Miami getting the ball back. Back QB Matt Moore would drive the Dolphins down the field, which began inside the Arizona 47 yard line.  The Dolphins would get inside the 5 when Moore connects with Kenny Stills.  After a run for a one yard loss by Damien Williams, the Fins would call a timeout with one second left. Andrew Franks would chip in the field goal for the win 26-23.

The win was huge for the Dolphins. The team moves to 8-5 and with the Denver Broncos losing to the Tennessee Titans, the Dolphins are now tied for the final wild card spot.

Update:

According to sources the knee injury Ryan Tannehill suffered is an ACL tear, ending his season.
