Rapid Recap: Jacksonville Jaguars Hang Tough, But Fall Short vs. Broncos

The official theme for the 2016 Jacksonville Jaguars has to be “Just Falls Short”  In a game where no one on this planet gave the Jags any chance against the Denver Broncos the Jags certainly made it interesting. Despite falling in a 1o-3 hole at halftime and then 17-3 at the end of the third. The play that made it 17-3 pretty much describes the Jaguars season in a nutshell. Blake Bortles, would throw a pick 6 to Brandon Roby who took it back 51 yards for the score. Bortles did run one from 22 yards out to make it 17-10.

The Broncos struggled on offense as rookie Paxton Lynch got the start and only threw for 104 yards. The Broncos only rushed for 104 as well, so once again the Jaguars defense played well. With the Jaguars down 17-10, they had the ball late in the 4th quarter, only for Bortles, who fumbles after a sack, recovered by Denver. The Broncos would tack on a field goal, go up 20-10 and that’s all she wrote.

Blake Bortles threw two costly interceptions and fumbled the ball an their last possession. The Jags wasted a 154 yard running performance as a team, and put way too much pressure on the defense. Which as stated early is pretty much how the entire season has gone.

At this point the Jags are better off losing the rest of their games and try to get the 2nd or 3rd pick in the draft.
