Any questions? That seemed to be the theme throughout the night at Hard Rock Stadium, as a Miami Hurricanes team that had been doubted for a lack of huge wins beat #3 Notre Dame to a pulp on Saturday night.
Travis Homer led an onslaught of 237 yards rushing with 146 of his own, as Miami used a power run game and bruising defense to overwhelm the Irish.
QB Malik Rosier threw a seven yard first quarter TD pass to Braxton Berrios for the first score of the night (above), and then added a 16 yard TD run for a 14-0 lead. Next, Michael Badgley kicked two field goals as the lead extended out to 20-0.
Rosier finished 15-24 for 137 yards, with the passing and the rushing TDs.
Then, the rest was left to the Canes defense.

Trajan Bandy picked Notre Dame backup QB Ian Book and raced 65 yards for essentially the knockout punch and a 27-0 lead at the half.
It was part of another four takeaways by the Hurricanes, as they passed their “Turnover Chain” from player to player, who got the turnovers. Miami became the first Division One team in 6 seasons to have four straight games with at least four takeaways.
Notre Dame never was in it in the second half after Dee Jay Dallas made it 34-0 with a 4 yard run and the rout was basically complete.
Miami will now almost certainly move into the top 4 of the all important College Football Playoff rankings. And the loss ends all hopes for Notre Dame to be in the Playoff, as they suffered their second loss of the season and they don’t have a 13th game from a conference championship to play.
The loss, by the way, dropped Irish coach Brian Kelly to 1-6 at Notre Dame in games against AP Top 10 teams.
Speaking of the conference championship, the Canes now know that they will play Clemson in the ACC Title Game on December 2nd. This after the Tigers wrapped up the Atlantic Division with their win over FSU Saturday.
Miami, will wrap up their home schedule on senior day against Virginia next Saturday with a chance to be 10-0.
