12 nights ago, the Miami Hurricanes were leading FSU 13-3 at home with a rowdy crowd behind them and appeared headed for 5-0 under first year head coach Mark Richt.

What a difference 2 1/2 games make.

On Thursday night, Viriginia Tech dropped the Canes to their third straight loss and now a season with so much promise at the start stands at 4-3.

Hokies QB Jerrod Evans (above) threw for 259 yards and 2 TD’s and even RB Sam Rogers got in the act with his arm in the 3rd quarter here:

Tech’s performance was even more impressive after they blew a lead and lost at Syracuse themselves just 5 days ago. For his part, Evans later added a clinching TD run with under three minutes left to round out the scoring at 37-16.

Miami was led by QB Brad Kaaya’s 323 yard and 2 TD’s but it wasn’t nearly enough.

The Hurricanes must regroup quickly, as they will be at equally struggling Notre Dame on 10/29.
