Plot thickens on Adrian Peterson possibly playing for Bucs

A picture is suppose to be worth a thousand words. And there it was earlier in the week, when TMZ Sports put out photos of Bucs QB Jameis Winston and Adrian Peterson working out and socializing together with famed QB guru George Whitfield and their training staff.

Obviously, with Peterson having been released by the Vikings last month on the eve of having to be paid a $6 million dollar roster bonus, the chatter about where the 32 year old former All-Pro ends up is continuing.

We at F.F.I. continue to monitor this, including Peterson openly talking in January about coming to Tampa Bay to play. However, our Roy Cummings has repeatedly been told privately that there is no real interest in bringing him to the Buccaneers, even at a lesser price.

Also, the Tampa Bay Times had this story yesterday with comments about the Jameis-AP workouts/photos from coach Dirk Koetter.

Here’s the “fun” part. The truth is somewhere in the mix above.

Winston obviously is the leader and face of the Buccaneer franchise. And the fact that he’s working out with a guy who’s considered to be one of the top running backs in the NFL over the past 15 years, is significant.

Is Peterson willing to take a one year deal in Tampa Bay at a small salary with incentives???

Is there someone out there (ahem, Jerry Jones) who would potentially give him a multi-year deal with guaranteed money attached?

Believe what you want right now.

The plot thickens.
