Primer for Pro Bowl Sunday night in Orlando

Florida Football Insiders

The NFL’s all star showcase, the Pro Bowl, comes to Camping World Stadium tonight. We have already weighed in on how serious this game isn’t taken by the participants and whether the NFL may look to delete it in the near future. Nevertheless, after a few years of having player drafts, the league has gone back to the NFC taking on the AFC.

With that layed out, here are some story lines involving players from the Dolphins:

For the AFC, Dolphins second year running back RB Jay Ajayi is an injury replacement and will get some playing time. Ajayi became the first NFL running back in 15 years to run for 200 yards in back to back games earlier in October and was clearly one of the main reasons for the Dolphins surge down the stretch. DeMarco Murray of the Titans will start, but expect Ajayi to get some touches.

Also, Dolphins wideout Jarvis Landry, like Ajayi, is an alternate getting to play and will be looking to catch passes from QB’s Alex Smith, Andy Dalton and Ben Roethlisberger.

On the defensive side, Miami will be represented by starter Cameron Wake on the D-line. He will try to get after the likes of Ezekiel Elliott in the NFC backfield. Ndamukong Suh was also voted a starter for the AFC, but the Dolphins revealed last week that he will not be playing Sunday night due to arthroscopic knee surgery.

Meanwhile, the NFC has two Buccaneers:

Tampa Bay’s stud receiver, Mike Evans, who was in the top five in receptions, TDs and yards this season got recognized for his 2016 season with his first Pro Bowl selection. Evans will definitely battle for time and targets with Dez Bryant, OBJ of the Giants and the great Larry Fitzgerald.

And Bucs defensive tackle Gerald McCoy has been voted a starter, while making an appearance in his fifth consecutive Pro Bowl. He will be surrounded with the like of Fletcher Cox, Michael Bennett, Thomas Davis, Anthony Barr, and Bobby Wagner in the starting NFC front seven.

How much blocking and tackling will be going on and at what speed? That remains to be seen.

We do know this: the winners get an extra $32,000 per person tonight. Maybe that will help things.
