The excitement is building for the beginning of the 2019 NFL Draft on Thursday night. And mock drafts are flying everywhere with what teams might or might not do.
So, with the understanding that it’s much like going to an ice cream store and picking your favorite flavor on which mock draft to pay attention to, we at F.F.I. have decided to sift through the latest, in particular, as it relates to the Buccaneers, the Dolphins and the Jaguars and the Jaguars
On Sunday night the NFL Network held their live mock draft involving their analysts such as, former 49ers and Lions coach Steve Mariucci, plus, analyst Daniel Jeremiah and former NFL DB Bucky Brooks, who Scout the draft for them all year long.

It’s interesting that the NFLN had the Buccaneers not going with a defensive tackle or a linebacker with the 5th overall pick, but instead, Kentucky edge rusher Josh Allen. On the surface, he seems to fit ideally into what the Buccaneers want to do with new defensive coordinator Todd Bowles and his 3 – 4 defense.
Next, they mocked the Jaguars would take TJ Hockenson, a quality tight end who won the John Mackey Award last year at Iowa, at number seven overall. Honestly, that would be a stunning pick, considering that Jacksonville has needs on the offensive line and another position like linebacker or secondary seems to make more sense.
Finally, in their “Sunday made-for-tv mock,” the NFL Network had the Dolphins taking massive Clemson defensive tackle Christian Wilkins. This was, even with their scenario having Missouri quarterback Drew lock or Duke quarterback Daniel Jones sitting there at the 13th pick for the Fins.
Another interesting take was this recent mock from Yahoo Sports and their team of college and NFL reporters and analysts:
Here's the link to our entire @YahooSports Mock Draft show. The @YahooSportsCFB and @YahooSportsNFL teams break down the entire first round. We go 90-minutes strong, if you need something to get through work today. Oh yeah, we have quite a few laughs, too https://t.co/BkRwSykmNh

While it doesn’t carry the same weight as the NFL Network, the difference of opinion on all three Florida teams’ first round round picks shows just how much of an educated guessing game.
For Tampa Bay, they went with LSU LB Devin White, who seems to fill a need. Yahoo then took an in-state pick for Jacksonville with Gators RT Jawaan Taylor, which as we said the Jags are desperate for to rebuild. And finally, another offensive lineman in Alabama OT Jonah Williams, was their mock pick going to Miami.
And, here’s yet one more Mock from CBS Sports.com and their draft analysts, where the three of them disagreed on almost every pick in the top 15 after the first two selections.
Again, it makes for great conversation to see what these analysts believe will happen, and not really a lot else.
Until, we start seeing how much they got right, when the draft begins for real.
