They both went to Florida colleges and they both are now property of the Vikings. And for now, it’s all smiles and jokes as veteran Latavius Murray and rookie Dalvin Cook get ready for the 2017 season.
The former UCF ball carrier, Murray was signed on from Oakland as a free agent, as the Vikings try to replace Adrian Peterson. They then took FSU’s Cook in April’s draft, when he fell to the second round.
So needless to say, both will be vying for carries and chances to succeed come this fall. But, during June and prior to the start of training camp, the playful camaraderie is all good. Observe Wednesday morning’s edition of “Good Morning Football” on the NFL Network.
Murray had appeared recently in studio on the show in New York and now it was Cook’s turn joining the in the fun from the Vikings training facility. So, the hosts decided to let Murray (by tape) have fun asking questions of Cook:

With the smiles and questions about what Cook would buy with his new contract, and who’s the best looking Viking running back, etc., you can tell they are already bonding in that room.
But, again, it’s June, and the competition for who’s on the field for first down carries, in goal line situations, getting the ball in the first quarter is up for grabs.
There will be less smiling and joking in July and August for sure.
