The sad story of former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Jonathan Martin and his psychological problems continued late last month and now there are more details about just how serious a danger he was to himself and possibly others.

We wrote at the time about Martin being taken into custody after essentially threatening former high school classmates and former Dolphins teammates Richie Incognito and Mike Pouncey in an Instagram post.

Thursday afternoon TMZ Sports wrote about the L.A. Police Department report they obtained after taking him into custody later that day, and it is obviously, eye opening:

The details just coming to light are that the authorities found him at a hospital in Glendale, California, after¬† someone called them about a “suicidal male” there and once they searched his vehicle, it got scarier. Martin had a loaded shotgun, as well as a large knife and an ax.

The also located his former classmates at Harvard Westlake School and questioned them about Facebook threats Martin had previously made towards them.

According to TMZ and the report, one of the posts to the classmate read:

“Thank you for being such an a–hole to me when I was a kid and didn’t fit in … being d–ks to me when I was a kid has made me, quite literally, insane.”

“And I blame you above all. You’ll get yours, eventually — I have already paid my price for being a bad person. I wish you nothing but the worst. Best, Jonathan Martin.”

The LAPD report also details questioning Martin’s girlfriend, who described him as making suicidal statements over the weeks before his arrest.

Martin was initially held on 72 hour observation for being a danger to himself and potentially, others. It’s unclear if he is still in a psychiatric facility or not at this stage.

Martin was a draft pick of the Dolphins and Incognito, particularly, was found to have excessively bullied him while they played together in 2012 and 13. Incognito was suspended for the second half of the 2013 season and eventually released.

Martin hasn’t played in the NFL in three years.
