As the Dolphins get set to host the Browns Sunday, they are one of a long list of NFL teams (Bucs, Vikings, Chargers, Chiefs, etc.) that are dealing with RB injuries and uncertainty. With free agent acquisition Arian Foster already injured, again, re-aggravating a groin Sunday in New England that previously sidelined him with the Texans, the Fins are looking at the depth chart.
For the record, Miami listed Foster as “Did Not Participate” in their practice Wednesday, which means 2nd team RB Jay Ajayi who was deactivated/left home from the opener at Seattle for disciplinary reasons is now taking the 1st team reps and rookie Kenyan Drake the Dolphins third round pick from Alabama slides up to the back up spot.
Drake is the more versatile back showing promise as both a pass catcher and even kick returner at Tuscaloosa and Sunday was on the field for 18 plays including a 4th quarter TD run.
Head Coach Adam Gase was asked about Drake’s progress Wednesday afternoon and gave him some praise:
Adam Gase says Kenyan Drake “has the ability” to do everything. Drake just needs to get aligned right every time.

Drake may be called upon more significantly not only Sunday, but in the next few games.
