NFL Network Analysts say Bucs best chance to end playoff drought

We continue to document the hype surrounding the upcoming Buccaneers season, and Thursday night on the NFL Network “Total Access” show, the Bucs ending their playoff drought was again a topic.

Former Super Bowl champions Willie McGinest and Heath Evans both selected Tampa Bay as the franchise to make this post-season out of a group that includes the Browns, Jags, Bills, etc. that have the longest playoff droughts.

Here’s the segment:

Interesting that McGinest, a defensive guy, likes the Bucs chances riding on the arm of Jameis Winston and the offensive weapons. Meanwhile, Evans, a former bulldozer fullback, sees year two of Mike Smith’s defense as being nastier than anything they had in Atlanta, while Smith was head coach.

Again, it’s May and there hasn’t been a single “two-a-day” practice, much less preseason game, yet. And, we understand that the NFL Network will constantly be debating the topic of who makes the “big jump” into relevancy in 2017 for awhile.

Still, the Pewter and Red of Tampa Bay are getting lots of love for how they have enhanced a 9-7 team from a year ago.
