We are now eight days from the 2017 NFL Draft and a very intriguing question hangs out there regarding the QB class: will anyone take a chance on one, especially early on, in the first round?
Well, NBC Sunday night game analyst Cris Collinsworth thinks that the Jaguars should. And he believes that Clemson all everything passer/runner, Deshaun Watson is that guy.
Here’s a link to his latest mock draft:

By his own admission, this pick is a big reach for the Jags, especially at the four spot. And, most believe that the QB’s will still be there at the end of the first round, if not later on.
Yet, there is intrigue with Watson, who led Clemson to the National Championship with a thrilling last minute TD drive in January against Alabama. He definitely has flash and skill to energize a franchise.
And as Collinsworth points out, Jacksonville QB Blake Bortles is on shaky ground with a new regime’ and he believes that Watson has better mechanics and touch on the ball, etc. to help him become a quality NFL quarterback than what Bortles is or will be.
There is no indication the Jags are willing to do this at #4 in the opening round. Then, again, there have been crazier picks and Jacksonville has made some of them, even recently. Justin Blackmon, anyone?
It’s a fascinating marriage, if it happens.
