Mark Richt and the Miami Hurricanes have been very active in bolstering their recruiting class for 2018. This weekend they landed a 4-star QB recruit. Arthur Sitkowski from Old Bridge, NJ who plays for IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL has pledged to play for the Hurricanes. Sitkowski is listed as 6’5 210 lbs and is considered a pro-style QB.
Sitkowksi is currently rated by 247sports as the 4th best pro style QB in the 2018 class and 75th prospect overall. The Canes now have 12 verbal commits for 2018, which right now is ranked #2 overall behind only Penn State. That’s a very impressive start to the 2018 recruiting effort.
As for the current QB position, it is going to be wide open. The spring practices will be very interesting. but it won’t have the drama that the fall camp will have. Malik Rosier, Jack Allison, Vincent Testaverde, Evan Shireffs as well as Cade Weldon and N’Kosi Perry. With the addition of Sitkowski in 2018, it’s abundantly clear that Richt’s strategy is to always have a fierce QB competition. Which makes sense, but it totally mirrors the program when it was on the rise, when Richt played for Miami.
