After the Miami Hurricanes picked up their first bowl win in a decade, the attention immediately started to shift to what the Canes will be like in 2017. We do know now, that one of their star players will be leaving for the NFL. Redshirt sophomore TE David Njoku announced right after the Russell Athletic Bow victory over West Virginia, that he will forgo his remaining eligibility and head to the NFL.

This comes as no surprise to anyone who follow Miami Hurricane football. As Njoku is considered one of the top TE prospects heading into the draft. This season he had 43 catches for 698 yards and 8 TDs. But the reality is that his skill set has barely scratched the surface.

As you can see the young man didn’t take the decision too lightly.

We still don’t know the final decision of QB Brad Kaaya. He is expected to make his decision soon, but is going to check to see where he stands as far as QB prospects for the 2017 NFL Draft. We also have no word on RB Joseph Yearby. There’s rumblings about a few others who may declare as well as some transfers, but nothing in stone at this point.
