It wouldn’t be bowl season if there weren’t any suspensions leading right up to the game. The suspension bug hit the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday. The school announced it will suspend seven players for the Russell Athletic Bowl. The players will not travel to Orlando for failing to meet the standards of expectations set by the program. Whatever the heck that means.

Here are the seven players:

WR O’Juan Carney

TE Jovani Haskins

TE Michael Irvin

DB Jeff James Jr.

DL Tyreic Martin

DL Gerald Willis

DB Cedrick Wright

Of the group only Willis is the only one who had significant playing time. The Florida transfer had 5.5 tackles for a loss in nine games this year. Willis was suspended for the season opener for violating team rules. The rest of the group are all freshman, The Canes get set to play the West Virginia Mountaineers on December 28 in the Russell Athletics Bowl at 5:30pm ET.
