The 2017 East-West Shrine Game takes place this Saturday in Orlando and it’s stacked with NFL prospects looking to wow NFL scouts and up their position in the 2017 NFL Draft. There will be two Miami Hurricanes playing in this game, and they both look to dazzle the scouts.

WR Stacy Coley and Safety Jamal Carter are the two Canes playing in the game on Saturday.  Coley is a 6’1 195 lb talented wide out. The Ft. Lauderdale native had 63 receptions for 754 yards and 9 TDs to close out his career at Miami. He’s a solid route runner who’s able to get real physical when needed and has good hands and enough speed to make it in the NFL. Right now he’s projected as a 4th or 5th round pick.

Jamal Carter is a hard hitting safety that really came into his own his senior season. Leading the team in tackles with 85, which is impressive because DC Manny Diaz runs an aggressive style defense. Clearly Carter flourished in this style of defense, as he only had 48 tackles his junior season. That’s a huge improvement and something that certainly lifted his stock. Carter is the type of player you want on your team as he is high energy, coachable, and also has a high football IQ. You can tell the coaching staff saw something in Carter the previous staff did not and was able to maximize his abilities. I’m certain we will see his skills and vigor on display in Orlando on Saturday.
