Miami Dolphins Invite Some Local Prospects Ahead of NFL Draft

It is of little surprise, and somewhat of a tradition for the Miami Dolphins to invite some of the local talent as part of the pre draft process to evaluate who they are going to target in the draft. For the Dolphins this year it’s being reported by the Miami Herald, that at least two former Miami Hurricane players have already had meeting with the Dolphins this week.

These players are WR Stacey Coley and CB Corn Elder. The Dolphins have made it clear that they will be targeting CB in the upcoming draft, however it’s likely they won’t select one in the first round, unless it’s a bonafide steal pick who slipped in the draft. Elder is a player the Dolphins have been interested in, and is projected to be picked between the 3rd and the 5th rounds. If he’s available when the Dolphins select in those rounds, it won’t be a major shocker if they do go with Elder.

One player who will not meet with the team is former UM stud TE David Njoku. The Dolphins Pro Day which is Friday conflicts with the Cleveland Browns Pro Day, which Njoku already scheduled. In addition the Dolphins aren’t in the market to select a TE in the first round after acquiring Julius Thomas from the Jaguars in a trade last month.
