The Dolphins continued to fortify their defense on night two of the NFL Draft, electing to go with an Ohio State offensive line backer in Raekwon McMillan in the second round.
McMillan was part of dominant Buckeyes defense the last two seasons leading them in tackles each year. At 6’2″ 240lbs he has size and also versatility that appealed to Miami. He played all three linebacker positions at one point or another in Columbus.
McMillan joins a linebacker corp that has has Kiko Alonso and also the recently signed free agent from the Steelers, Lawrence Timmons.
It is only the second time in 21 drafts Miami used it’s first two picks for defensive purposes and the first since 2013.
