For 59 and a half minutes UCF and first year head coach Scott Frost had done enough to get a third consecutive win. Unfortunately, it takes 60 full minutes and Temple amazingly raced down the field on four straight completions to score the game winning TD with :01 left and stun the Golden Knights 26-25.
Owls QB Phillip Walker engineered the final drive, and capped it with this eight yard pass with time about to expire:

Keith Kirkwood’s amazing effort to not only secured the winning TD pass, but get his foot and knee down in the back of the end zone and broke UCF’s heart.
UCF got two TD passes and a 63 yard TD run in the first half from True freshman QB Mckenzie Milton to build an eventual 25-7 lead. But, the Owls continued to chip away in the second half.
RB Jahad Thomas finshed with 120 yards and a TD to help lead the rally and set up the dramatics.
The Knights needed only to get a first down to run the clock out, but to Temple’s credit, they used their two remaining timeouts, got the stop on third down and got the ball back for Walker to lead the hectic final 70 yard drive.
Needless to say, this loss is a “gut punch” for UCF and equally, thrilling for Temple to have pulled it out on the road with one second left in the game.
