There is no such thing as an off season any longer, and even in January, the AAC wasted no time releasing their conference schedule Thursday. This includes the big league games for USF and UCF this fall.

ICYMI: The 2017 American Athletic Conference Football Schedule was announced today
— American Football (@American_FB) February 9, 2017
First for UCF in coach Scott Frost’s second season, the Golden Knights learned they will open in AAC play at home with Memphis September 9th, who they’ve never met in the American but own an all time record of 9-1 against. They will play a service academy for the first time ever on October 21st at Navy in a game that will be on CBS Sports Network. The Knights, then, get a chance at revenge at the defending champion Temple Owls on November 18th after Temple pulled off a last second heroic comeback in Orlando last year.
Meanwhile, the Bulls welcome new head coach Charlie Strong aboard, and will also open American play on September 9th on the road at UConn, whom USF is 4-0 against in all their AAC meetings. They will also be looking for revenge against Temple, when they play the Owls on an ESPN Thursday night game September 21st. Temple humbled USF in Philly for one of their two losses last year. Th Bulls will also play what could be a critical late season Saturday game at Raymond James Stadium against Houston on November 4th.
And the American once again has put the “War on I-4” between UCF and USF on Black Friday of Thanksgiving weekend. ESPN will dictate the time and the network. The Knights are smarting from being beaten soundly in each of the previous two match-ups by the Bulls.
