The Jaguars were looking to make a statement in Tennessee in prime time Thursday night.
Boy, did they ever.
The Titans dominated Jacksonville in every phase of the game on their way to an easy 36-22 AFC South win, which was never as close as the final score. And, it all but assures that head coach Gus Bradley will be fired and maybe, as soon as Friday.
Marcus Mariota keyed the Titan offense throwing an early 36 yard rainbow TD here:

Kendall Hunter was on the receiving end of that TD that made it 10-0 and Tennessee was on their way. Mariota was hot throughout, while completing 18 of his first 21 passes. Then, RB DeMarco Murray added 123 yards on the ground with a TD. Tennessee did what ever they wanted for much of the night.
Now onto the Jags, who desperately needed a good performance and absolutely, no-showed.
Examples? They had one whole yard rushing in the 1st quarter and 60 total yards in the first half on offense. Meanwhile, the Jaguar defense was repeatedly gouged for 354 first half yards and trailed 24-0 at the break, where both Bill Cowher and Deion Sanders declared on the half time on the TV set that they had quit. The lead was 36-8 when the Titans called off the dogs.
Blake Bortles again struggled to move/rally the offense when it mattered. He did finish over 300 yards passing, but much of his yardage in the second half was against soft defense while the Titans led big and was only relevant for fantasy football players.
The loss dropped Jacksonville to 2-5. And more importantly, it’s obvious that head coach Gus Bradley is done. He is now 14-41 in 4+ seasons and it wouldn’t surprise us at F.F.I. if the move is made Friday by owner Shad Khan.
It has been generally believed that Assistant Head Coach Doug Marrone would take over, as he previously coached the Buffalo Bills.
Clearly, if owner Khan does nothing after this roll over performance in a stand alone national TV game, then questions should be asked about whether winning matters in North Florida.
We will wait and see.
