For the second consecutive day the Patriots practiced and prepared for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Championship game on Sunday. And on Thursday, just like after he hurt his hand during practice on Wednesday, sure fire Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady was unable to do much.

During the portion of practice open to the media Brady participated in warm-ups with a glove on the injured throwing hand, but didn’t really throw the ball. And now, the Patriots have conceded on the injury report Brady did not participate at all on Thursday.

Backup QB Brian Hoyer, who began the year as San Francisco’s starter, but was released after the Patriots traded Jimmy Garappolo to the 49ers, apparently took most of the reps today.

Wednesday and Thursday practices are typically where teams practice most of their game plan and so, it’s significant that Brady could not participate today.

While at this moment it does not appear that his injury is threatening to keep Brady out of the all the important Championship Game, it’s clearly now a concern for all involved.

Another indication of this is: Brady was re-scheduled to meet with the media Thursday, but that has again, been pushed back to Friday.

Typical NFL media policy during the week is that the quarterbacks of the Championship Game teams talk on either Wednesday or Thursday.

The fact that the Pat’s have now moved the news conference twice and don’t want him to answer questions about the injury and how he hurt he is, is telling.

So, the ongoing drama will continue for at least another day.
