Jaguars RB Fournette not shy about cashing in on LSU Sunday night

It was a big night for LSU football in “Big D,” as they hammered the Miami Hurricanes in a season-opening 33-17 win. And, for former LSU star and now Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette, let’s just say it was a profitable evening.

Fournette wasted no time, as LSU was building a 27-3 halftime lead, letting everyone on social media know that he was going to cash in on his former school:

It doesn’t appear that Fournette was actually at the game in Arlington, Texas. He was never shown or mentioned having been on the LSU sideline, Etc. However, Fournette, then posted another photo about 30 minutes later from the inside of a private plane with more greenbacks celebrating the pending Bayou Bengal victory.

Fournette and his Jaguar teammates are scheduled to be in the building in North Florida this morning to begin preparation for game week with the opener against the Giants. It’s certainly conceivable that Fournette could have been at the beginning of the game, out of sight of media and ESPN cameras and left at halftime.

Or perhaps, he was flying back to Jacksonville from somewhere else on Sunday night, as well. That part is unclear, but we may learn more about it today.

It’s also intriguing that Fournette never specifically called out offensive lineman Brandon Linder or All Pro defensive lineman Calais Campbell both of whom are alumni of “The U.”

It’s also not clear if there was a friendly wager or not, between the players.

What is clear is: LSU in specific and the SEC West in general had a huge weekend. With Alabama, Auburn and Ole Miss all winning important neutral site games, the conference flexed its muscle.

Now the second-year running back from the Tigers is ready to flex some more NFL muscle starting this Sunday.
