Jaguars Marrone gets “secret game plan” for Patriots game Sunday

Florida Football Insiders

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Late in his Thursday morning press conference, Jaguars coach Doug Marrone revealed a special document that he has received in preparation for the Patriots on Sunday.

A special game plan on “How to beat the Patriots” has been given to the coach in advance of the AFC Championship Game at Foxboro. Given to him by….a class of first graders.

Yes a Bolles Elementary first grade class took the time to send the coach and the team their thoughts and original illustrations on how the Jaguars can upset New England and make the Super Bowl for the first time.

Marrone made mention near the end of the news conference that he had to wrap things up: “So, that I can get to this,” and held up the hand made booklet to the chuckles of those in attendance.

Marrone’s sense of humor is a good sign that the Jaguars still have everything in perspective, as they get ready to play the Pats, while a step from the ultimate dream game. Honestly, could you ever see Bill Belichick joking around with something like that the week of a huge game?

Didn’t think so.

You can checkout Marrone’s full presser, including when he referenced and “dead-panned” about Tom Brady’s injured throwing hand saying, “I am sure he could throw it left handed” if Brady needed to Sunday.

The part about the “secret game plan” comes in the final couple of minutes.
