Are Jaguars about to let Allen Robinson test free agency?

Florida Football Insiders

Three days have now come and gone for NFL teams to use either the “franchise” or “transitional” tags on pending free agents. And unlike the Dolphins, who immediately put the franchise tag on Jarvis Landry on Tuesday afternoon, the Jaguars have done nothing with their star WR, Allen Robinson.

And by nothing, that would include no communication with he and his agent going all the way back to last off season. At least that’s what Robinson said this afternoon to Florida First Coast News reporter Mike Kaye:

Kaye talked extensively with Robinson for muti-part television interview that will be airing in Jacksonville starting tonight.

So, piecing together the facts: if the Jaguars have not had even a contract proposal to Robinson’s side, and they haven’t put a tag on him in the first few days, when they could have, then likely, they are ready to let him at least test market.

Now, obviously, this could change at any time this week or leading up to March 6th (final day for tag designations).

One big factor, is the fact that he missed virtually the entire 2017 season tearing his ACL in the first half of game one at Houston last year. And while, he will likely be fully ready to play this summer and then, training camp, it’s still a slight question mark at the worst time for his value to other teams.

The waiting game continues.
