The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed veteran fullback Tommy Bohanon. The move is a key sign on a scheme shift that head coach Doug Marrone will instill for this coming season.  Bohanon was not on a roster in 2016, but the reason the Jags picked him up seems to make sense.

Bohanon last played for the New York Jets, where he served as the RB for RB Chris Ivory in 2015. That season Ivory rushed for over 1,00 yards 4.3 yards per carry. Ivory now on the Jaguars will get back the FB that certainly helped his production.

The move to sign a fullback is not a huge surprise for Doug Marrone, who was known to use them while he was head coach at Syracuse and for the Buffalo Bills. The signing of the 6’1 241 Bohanon shows that Marrone is going to be committed to the run game. Last season the Jags had one of the worst rush offenses in the league.
