For the second consecutive year, the Jaguars and the Buccaneers will hold joint practices in advance of their preseason meeting in Jacksonville.
Both teams announced Thursday morning that they will practice together on Monday August 14th and again on Tuesday the 15th before playing on Thursday night August 17th in a preseason game that will be nationally televised by ESPN.
The two teams did the exact same thing a year ago before playing each other at Everbank Field, and obviously, Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter’s previous relationship in Jacksonville, as offensive coordinator and the proximity of the two franchises in the state make it ideal for both.
The difference this go around in North Florida is that Doug Marrone has been elevated to head coach with Tom Coughlin back overseeing the football front office.
The joint practices will be open to fans and media and the actual times for the two days will be announced later in the summer. It is expected that at least one of them will be a full padded practice to get the teams some extra work before the live fire of the preseason game.
