All the talk in Dallas today is about quarterback Tony Romo and where he’ll land now that the Cowboys have decided to let him go.
Already, though, another former Cowboys starter has landed a new home in free agency and that former starter is safety Barry Church.
Scout Chris Landry of LandryFootball.com reported that the Jaguars have signed Church as a replacement for Johnathan Cyprien. Terms and length of the deal are not yet known.
Church has a little Jabrill Peppers in him. Or maybe Peppers, the Michigan safety/linebacker has a little Church in him.
Either way, Church first landed in Dallas in 2010 as a middle linebacker and later moved to free safety, then eventually strong safety.
He’s had five picks over the course of the last five years and has proven to be a very sturdy player, missing just five games the past four years.
