Finally Shad Khan, owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars had enough and pulled the trigger on head coach Gus Bradley after the embarrassing 21-20 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday. The loss marked the 9th in a row for the Jags.
This was the fourth season with Bradley at the helm, where the Jags went 14-48 during his tenure. The team failed to win more than five games during those four seasons.
Blowing a 13-0 lead and a 20-8 lead on Sunday was the kicker. According to multiple reports, Khan announced the firing while the team’s flight was in the air with Gus Bradley on the plane flying back to Jacksonville.
GM Dave Caldwell will lead the coaching search according to Khan. This indicates the likelihood Caldwell will keep his job. It’s almost certain that the Jags will secure a top 5 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
An interim head coach has not been named as of yet, but likely will be either later tonight or tomorrow morning. We will keep you updated on any developments.
