Branden Albert is a veteran and knows the drill. And, once it was time to get down to business at mandatory mini-camp,  Albert was in fact with the Jags Tuesday.

After holding out of team activates up until today, Albert went through drills (see above) and practiced at left tackle for the first time in his Jaguars career. He then talked generically, about his new team and situation:

“It is what it is” was a frequent answer Tuesday on everything that happened between him and the organization to this point.

Albert, also said that he needed a break for himself after a long three seasons in Miami, to reset himself physically, mentally, and spiritually.

We have been writing about whether his not showing over the last three weeks was money motivated, but when asked if he feels under paid, he said no he wasn’t. Albert did acknowledge he wasn’t making bad money and when asked about rookie Cam Robinson and the left tackle position, he said he’s scared of no one and also is here to make the young guys better.

Albert has only played left tackle in his career in K.C. and then, Miami, it could be interesting to see if either one winds up on the right side for the time being. Albert did admit it wasn’t his intention all along to report, Tuesay but it is how things played out and he will be here from now on.

This is great news for the Jags having won the contract “war” for now with their off season acquisition. Now both sides hope to put football first as the new look Jags look to make some noise in the AFC South.
