Florida Football Primer

South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Florida Gators – Noon ET

The battle of Spurrier supremacy on the line as the teams the Ole Ball Coach once roamed the sidelines for, tangle in Gainesville. Well maybe more of the battle of Will Muschamp as the former Gators head coach heads to the swamp against his old squad. This is an important SEC East match up. Really, it’s a must win for the Gators if they want a clear path to the SEC Championship Game. The Gamecocks believe it or not are still in the hunt to possibly win the SEC (L)East. They are hot too, winners of three straight.  Florida will be without starting QB Luke Del Rio, so this could be an interesting game.

Cincinnati Bearcats vs. UCF Knights – Noon ET

The Knights will look to make it two straight at home against a Bearcats squad, who’s been struggling in conference at only 1-4. UCF is currently in third place at 3-2 in the American Athletic Conference East division and can become bowl eligible with the win. The Bearcats are looking to avoid a three game skid in Orlando on Saturday. This contest ought to be a typical AAC contest, tightly wound and competitive.

Miami Hurricanes vs. Virginia Cavaliers – 2pm ET

The Hurricanes snapped a four game skid last week with their impressive win over the Pitt Panthers last weekend. A rejuvenated Miami squad will face a UVA team that is on a four game skid themselves. Though both of these teams are not going to win the ACC Coastal Division, UVA has been giving Miami fits over the past several years. If Miami’s offensive line plays like they did against Pitt, the Canes ought to win this game handily.  Miami will be bowl eligible with a win.

USF Bulls vs. Memphis Tigers – 7:00pm ET

The Bulls come into this contest after a very impressive victory over Navy, two weeks ago. The win kept the Bulls alive for the AAC East crown, though they need to win out and Temple needs to lose one more in order for that to happen. The Tigers are coming off a stomping of SMU last weekend, look to keep up with their good fortunes against USF.  This game right here should be very interesting and likely high scoring. Should be a fun one in the prime time in Memphis Saturday night!
