Gameday: Will the Nightmare Season Continue for the Jaguars Against Bills?

Nothing like a team from the state of Florida taking a trip to Buffalo after Thanksgiving. The Jacksonville Jaguars, losers of five straight games, will take on the Buffalo Bills on Sunday at 1pm. This isn’t exactly a math cup Jags should be looking for to end their losing streak. The Jags will not play in the post season for the ninth straight season.

Let’s look at the numbers, the Bills has the best rushing offense in the NFL. The Jags are the 22nd in the league in rushing defense. Expect the Bills to exploit that. And though the Bills passing attack isn’t something that scares opponents, they will get WR Sammy Watkins back, which should help Tyrod Taylor.

On the flip side, the Jaguars offense has been suspect at best. Blake Bortles has had a pedestrian season after much promise going into the season. He’s thrown 18 TD and 13 INTs. The rushing attack has been deplorable, with Chris Ivory leading the team with only 306 yards and 1 TD. Also Bortles will be without TE Julius Thomas who has a bad back.

This also marks the first time that former Bills head coach Doug Marrone makes his return now as the offensive line coach for the Jags. Let’s not forget the Marrone opted out of signing a new contract with the Bills two years ago.

This is till a winnable game for the Jags and the Bills have been inconsistent this season. That said the time clock for head coach Gus Bradley is ticking and he needs to win a few games at the end of the season to make the case to bring him back next year. They way things are going, it doesn’t look so good.
