How will the young Golden Knights respond after coughing up a 25-7 lead and losing with :01 on the clock against Temple last Friday night? Especially, with a test on the on road coming today, UCF can’t let last week beat them twice. But, UConn is in the same boat. The Huskies actually put together a great 3rd quarter and had the lead 17-14 at USF. The problem is the Bulls offensive rolled from their to an eventual 42-27 win. So both of these programs need an uplift.
Player to watch
UCF Freshman QB McKenzie Milton had a spectacular first half last week vs. Temple with 2 TD throws and an electrifying 63 yard TD run. The Huskies got a snout-ful of Bulls dual threat QB Quinton Flowers last week and better be ready to stop the agile Milton later today.
Vegas has much respect for coach Scott Frost’s rebuilding job. The fact that an 0-12 team a year ago is a 5 point favorite on the road in a conference games speaks volumes. This is already the fifth time this year the Huskies have an Underdog.
UConn has a QB in Bryant Shirreffs has almost 1,600 yards passing and 7 TD’s on the sesaon and RB Arkeel Newsome has rushed for 412 yards too. Will they have the offensive firepower to keep up? Will they create turnovers like the 4 they did at USF last Saturday night? If not on those two points, UCF likely wins easily today.
