The NFL Playoffs usually is filled with some types of surprises along the way. So far everything has been chalk and the games not so competitive. One thing you can count on, is players who may not be household names step up and make an impact to help their teams advance. For the Pittsburgh Steelers, my prediction is that a rookie from the U, will be one of those guys. His name, Artie Burns.

Looking at the depth chart, Burns is listed as a reserve left cornerback, playing behind Ross Cockrell. If you have watched the Steelers at all this season, you know the rookie Burns has made his impact. Even though he’s listed as a reserve, he still managed to have 65 tackles and 3 Ints this season. That’s extremely productive for a rookie corner.

The reason why Artie Burns may be one of the most important players on the field is because of one player on the Kansas City Chiefs, Tyreek Hill. Hill is the one of the most explosive players in the NFL. He can kill you in the return game, but also in the passing game. He’s such a lethal weapon, that the Steelers have already said that physical play will be a necessity. One of the guys who will have to keep an eye on Hill will be Burns.

The prediction I’m making for this game is that Artie Burns either is involved in a game changing turnover, or is a big part in shutting Hill down. Either way, he’s making an impact today. The Steelers wouldn’t have drafted him in the first round if they didn’t think he was capable. And this is a great stage for Burns to step up and help the Steelers get to the AFC Championship Game.

Obviously. I’m biased, but I’m rooting for the Steelers today, and the only reason is Artie Burns. I have no doubt he will represent the U today with pride.
