Fidget Spinner? Did you say Fidget Spinner?

Yes, you read our headline and might very well be wondering: What’s a Fidget Spinner? Well, let’s just say that Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter not only now knows more about them, but is unhappy about what ensued on social media between his team and his former team, the Falcons, on Wednesday.

Koetter apologized to the NFC Champions to begin his presser at Bucanneers OTA Thursday after someone in the Bucs organization trolled the Falcons on social media.

The whole thing started with the Bucs putting out a tweet about a Fidget Spinner, which are very popular toys these days with children, going fast at their online store. That drew response from the Falcons wondering if the Bucs were “nervous about something.”

The next thing you know, the Bucs began trolling the Falcons by putting out a tweet that had cornerback Vernon Hargreaves, who wears No. 28. Congratulating and shaking hands with Jameis Winston, who wears No. 3.

The teams have removed the tweets from their accounts, but not before Bleacher Report screen grabbed them for all time sake.

In case you forgot, the Falcons, after taking a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl, were overtaken by the Patriots in the biggest collapse in Super Bowl history.

The image the Bucs posted on their twitter feed referenced that 28-3 collapse, and prompted Koetter to apologize for the actions of his organization.

“I want to make sure that on behalf of the Bucs organization that I apologize to the Falcons for whatever that was supposed to be that went out on social media yesterday,’’ Koetter said.

“That’s not what our organization is about. That was totally unprofessional and not smart on our part, whoever’s responsible for that”.

“Heck, we want to be playing in the Super Bowl and we were home sitting on our butt while they were playing, so we’ve got no room to be making fun of anybody that was in the Super Bowl, whether they won or not.’’

It’s true that the Falcons were there and the Bucs were watching and it’s also true that the NFC South rivals will find any reason, including Fidget Spinners, to feud, too.
