The Miami Dolphins came into the home game against the Buffalo Bills looking to play spoiler to a division rival looking to make the playoffs for the first time in what seems like forever.

Starting QB Jay Cutler would be replaced quickly by David Fales. Who? David Fales a QB who like Cutler has had experience with Adam Gase while his time on the Bears, but has only thrown a handful of passes the past few seasons.

The Bills came out playing like everything was on the line while the Dolphins were playing well, they were players on the field.

Tyrod Taylor would connect with TE Nick O’Leary from 26 yards out to take the 7-0 lead. Then they would tack on a second field goal to take a 10-0 halftime lead.

In the third quarter the Bills would add another field goal going up 13-0. The Bills would take a commanding 19-0 lead when DT Kyle Williams would check in and punch in a one yard TD run. Bills up 19-0 against a Dolphins team that was struggling all game to move the ball.

The Dolphins however would start making this game interesting. After going nine plays for 74 yards David Fales would find Jarvis Landry from one yards. The two point conversion would fail and it’s now 22-9.

Then the Dolphins would make it very interesting after Fales punches it in from one yard out 22-16.

Believe it or not the Dolphins had a chance to win the game but Fales would throw an interception to Joey Poyer which would seal the win for the Bills making the final 22-16.

The Dolphins would close out the season losing 7 of their final nine games. Is Adam Gase going to be a casualty of black Monday? Likely not. He pretty much got a pass when Ryan Tannehill went down in training camp. That said his pick to run the show in Jay Cutler didn’t deliver. This is going to be a long offseason in South Florida.
