The Dolphins incredible turnaround of 2016 continued with a dramatic fourth quarter rally in the shadow of Hollywood itself and when it was over, they had secured their fifth consecutive victory with a 14-10 win over the Rams.

After 3+ quarters of doing almost nothing on offense (and being 0-10 on third down) and being shut out 10-0, QB Ryan Tannehill quickly led two touchdown drives in the final 4:30  of action throwing a pair of TD’s. The first from 10 yards out to WR Jarvis Landry to cut the deficit to three. Then, after the Fins defense stiffened and forced a Rams punt, it was time for the drama.

Tannehill led a quick 7 play 75 yard drive in the final two minutes that culminated with his 9 yard TD pass to a diving Devante Parker in the right corner of the end zone (above) with :36 remaining and the four point lead.

The Rams got the ball back one final time and moved to midfield, but Jared Goff’s Hail Mary at the gun was incomplete.

The debut of highly publicized #1 overall pick was less than spectacular. Goff finished just 17-31 for 134 yards and continued an amazing streak of #1 QB Picks making their debuts with futility. With the Goff/Rams defeat those QB’s  are now 0 for their last 10 dating back to David Carr’s debut win in 2002 with the Texans.

For his part Tannehill tallied 24-34 for 172 yards and the two scores. Running back Jay Ajayi was effective in spots early and finished with 77 yards on 16 carries.

The five game win streak matches the Dolphins same mark to close out 2008 and puts them at 6-4. And, they will host the one win awful 49ers next week with a great chance to be 7-4.
