The Miami Dolphins plan on making some major changes this off season that will certainly have fans buzzing. No it doesn’t have to do with the front office or coaching staff or ticket prices. The Dolphins will be changing their uniforms, slightly at least according to a source that reached out to the Miami Herald. Here’s more:

An NFL source familiar with the looming changes told the Miami Herald the coming look will not be so drastic as to go back to the throwback uniforms fans have shown an affinity for in recent years.

The throwback uniforms — right out of what the team sported in its 1966 inaugural season — will continue to be used as an alternate two games per season, as per NFL guidelines.

The source said the changes to the regular uniform will be an “evolution rather than a revolution” from the current uniform that employs aqua, orange, blue and white as the team’s color palette.

It looks as if the changes are going to be subtle, which is still enough to be worthy to talk about. For some reason uniform modifications are a huge deal. For the team it’s a wise move to do every few years. It’s a great way to boost jersey sale, especially for a team that is seemingly riddled in mediocrity since Dan Marino retired.

For a team who’s identity for the upcoming season is still in transition, the uniform modifications at least gets the fan base excited about something.
