The hottest team Pro or College is the Miami Dolphins with three straight wins, and now, they get a test traveling 3,000 miles west to Southern California to play the Chargers. Here are three things to know:

Feed the “Beast”

As Chris Fischer wrote this week, Jay Ajayi is the suddenly the key to the Fins offense and has bulldozed the last three opponents. San Diego can play physical D at home as they have done recently on Thursday night with the Broncos and last week against Demarco Murray and the Titans. Miami will try to run it and stick with it as long as they don’t fall far behind.

Good Rivers or Bad Rivers?

He was great last week against Tennessee, but Chargers QB Phillip Rivers goes through stretches in recent seasons where he continually turns it over. He had a three interception game at Denver in a loss two weeks ago and has also a two pick game in a loss at home to the Raiders earlier in October. 10 times over the last two+ seasons he’s thrown at least two picks and most of the time they lose.  The Dolphins have to be ready get some interceptions and change momentum/field position.

Finally, there had been “No Place Like Home” for Miami

For the first time in 6 weeks the Fins are on the road. Granted they had go out to San Diego, but in a very benevolent quirk from the NFL, the Dolphins have not left South Florida for a game since their week four Thursday night loss at Cincinnati. Four home games and a week off sandwiched between. They are well rested and now let’s see if they can get something done on the road. A fourth straight wins puts them squarely in the Wild Card chase.
