Without question, wide receiver Jarvis Landry is a tremendous weapon for the Dolphins pass offense, especially on third down and even more, after the catch. Now, there is a question as to how much he should be paid on his new deal coming soon.
Dolphins coach Adam Gase expressed confidence at the NFL Owners Meetings Tuesday in Phoenix that not only will Landry get his new hefty contract, but he will not miss any time this off season or as training camp gets underway because of a hold out.
That remains to be seen.
Here’s more on the Landry new contract parameters and his situation in South Florida from NFL.com:
Long-term contract looming?
— NFL (@NFL) March 29, 2017
That deal is obviously is significant not only for Landry, but his former teammate at LSU, the Giants Odell Beckham, Jr. and also the Bucs Mike Evans and their long term deals for huge dollars.
As the item above states, the Fins may negotiate based off of slot receiver’s contracts, but somehow, someone as vital after the catch and converting first downs at such a high rate may want much bigger cash.
Plus, his teammate Kenny Stills also just cashed in before free agency cranked up. Factor all of this in, and it bears watching whether Landry will chose to sit out in April and May, because the offer isn’t what he wants…..yet.
