TAMPA – Judging by the way he threw the ball during the portion of practice open to the media on Friday, Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston’s right shoulder seems to be back at full strength.
So too is his sense of humor.
After he’d warmed up by throwing about a dozen short passes to wide receivers from the 10-yard line, Winston threw a ball about 35 yards into a crowd of media watching the workout.

This was no over-throw. Winston was clearly attempting to throw into the crowd of about a dozen reporters to show he’s ready to play after suffering a right AC joint sprain in the Bucs loss at Arizona last week.
And indeed he is. Bucs coach Dirk Koetter announced after the workout Friday that Winston will be his starter for the Bucs game at Buffalo on Sunday.
Winston was all but prohibited from throwing during the first two days of practice this week, but he was scheduled to take all the first-team reps in practice on Friday.
“Jameis is our starter (and) he’ll be out there,’’ Koetter said. “He threw the ball well. I haven’t been trying to get off on technicalities all week. I’ve just been telling you what I know.’’
